Meet SA’s First Family of Food

Angelica Cortez never planned on a career in her family’s restaurant business. But after a few years of living a different life on her own, she found her passion right back where she started — at MTC Inc., the company that operates Mi Tierra and other local favorites.

Angelica, part of the family that runs San Antonio’s most profitable group of restaurants, graduated from Boston University with a degree in communications and went on to work as a graphic designer on the East Coast and later as an advertising and marketing executive in Los Angeles.
